Numatic Face Shield - PPE - Lightweight, comfortable and versatile design - Can Be Reused

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, Numatic's Design & Manufacturing teams have worked hard to quickly develop a Face Shield that is effective, comfortable, reusable and can be manufactured in high volumes immediately.

The Numatic Face Shield offers a fully-adjustable, twin-strap design, which means it can be fitted easily, comfortably and securely to any head shape. The twin-strap also allows pony tails to be worn under or over the strap for added versatility.

Care and cleaning

The visors are reusable but sterilisation is a decision for each health authority based on their processes and risk assessments.

• The visor can be wiped clean/semi sterilised with universal wipes
• The visors can sterilised through immersion and washing in hot soapy water (400 C)
• The visor can be sterilised through immersion in 1% chlorine solution, as per many hospitals
• The visor was sterilised effectively by NHS Partner* @ 600 C
• The visor can be sterilised through immersion in Isopropyl Alcohol
• The visor was sterilised effectively by NHS Partner* @ 1000 C

Wash Procedure

Suggested cleaning process, as used by NHS Development Partner* Tests used x10 visors per wash

1. Pre-wash - 20.5ºC (5 min)
2. Wash using Phoenix* - 61.3ºC 6mins water pressure 4.8bar
3. Rinse - 60ºC (1 min)
4. Thermal rinse - 90-93ºC (8 min) 5 Drying – 100-105.4ºC (10 min)

Safety & Regulatory Notes:

This product has been produced in a non-sterile environment, clean before use following your existing SOP (Standard Operating Practices). These items of PPE that Numatic International Limited has developed for the NHS and other front-line health providers have completed some internal assessment and testing to the regulations and standards but are not CE marked. As per the Government’s announcement on 28th March 2020, to help get products into the NHS supply chain as quickly as possible, certain regulations for these types of PPE were relaxed. This statement confirmed that certain PPE products required during this epidemic need not bear a CE mark or be fully tested. They should still, however, meet essential safety requirements. This PPE fulfils this requirement. The face visor, understandably in the current environment and speed of production, has not been certified to BS EN 166:2002 or any equivalent standard. We do, however, believe it would conform.
