Toucan Eco III makes one litre of eco-friendly antibacterial multi-surface cleaner in around five minutes.

Toucan Eco lets you make your own multipurpose disinfectant cleaner from just water, salt and electricity that kills 99.999% of microorganisms.

It’s eco-friendly, effective and safe, and replaces most chemical cleaners and the single use plastic bottles they are supplied in.

The kit includes the 1l activation unit, measuring spoon, mixing rod, spray bottle and some salt to get you started.

The model measures 100mm x 100mm x 320mm.

How It Works:

Electrochemical Activation

The reaction oxidises at the positively charged electrode (the anode) and reduces at the negatively charged electrode (the cathode). This produces the free available chlorine (FAC) solution with changed chemical properties, making a powerful but safe disinfectant and gentle cleaning agent.

Positive Anode

Here, the hydrogen and oxygen in the water reacts with the chlorine in the salt to make hypochlorous acid (HCIO).

Negative Cathode

And the sodium and chloride in the salt combines with the oxygen in the water to produce a low concentration of sodium hypochlorite (NaClO).

Oxidisation

The solution naturally wants to revert back to its original state by oxidising organic matter. That’s part of its effectiveness, but also why it reverts back to salty water over six to eight days.
